Today Kyle Branzel led his M.O.M. (Musical of the Month) with Jesus Christ Superstar, one of my all time favorite shows.
We had a great conversation about music, religion, and the future and past of theatre. I was very thrilled to learn that JC Superstar was first presented as a concept album before getting support to develop it into a Broadway musical. I’m very much an advocate for launching projects in innovative ways.
I shared the 15 minute version of the play that I’ve been working on with my immediate family and close friends today on Zoom, and have been figuring out how I want to launch that, depending on which opportunities come my way. But the thing with opportunities is, you have to be there to be lucky. So while we like to protect our intellectual property, sometimes our caution can actually rob ourselves of opportunity and deny something to the world that can be a contribution. And usually, when you share your gifts, the return is huge.
The systems that are in place operate largely out of fear, and that’s why they’re breaking down. The world is abundant, and the Universe and the beings within it, usually want to help us on our way, so we need to start acting with that mindset to change the paradigm.
Things take time, but time is what we’re made of, so there’s no need to rush.
