CLVIII (158) Asé

I felt good about the work that I did today, and that’s of paramount importance to me.

Not just the work, the joy, the life, the art, the soul, and we had friends crash with us for the night.

All we have is today, this moment, but as we think of this second we already remember it. Right now turns into memories before we can catch up, already projecting what we hope for in the future.

Sometimes I wonder if I sound like jibber, jabber, jibber… bibber. Oh well, I said what I said and wrote what I did.

…another flat tire…

That part is not a metaphor, I don’t know if it’s a defect in my wheel, a glitch in the matrix, or just a string of bad luck…

The thing about luck is… some people would say it’s not real… that’s not what I would say, because I believe in cosmic karma, gravity, and ups and downs. Which way is up when we’re actually on a spinning ball hurtling through space?

Siri, how fast is Mother Earth traveling through space and time?

Physicist Rhett Herman responded to that question in Scientific American by asking “Compared to what?”

Herman than went on to say that depending on your frame of reference (relativity) you could say the earth is moving 1,000 miles per hour if measuring the rotation of the equator. Or 67,000 miles per hour if you’re referring to the speed at which we are currently orbiting the Sun. Or 2.237e+6 (don’t ask me to break that number down) per hour if you are referring to the speed at which our cluster of galaxies is heading towards some cosmic structure called The Great Attractor. Who said the law of attraction isn’t real?

Or if you’re measuring me today, when my bike caught another flat tire, and I had to pull over and regroup, I felt like I was standing still.

Maybe the Universe is reminding me that even when it feels like things are going slow, or not going at all, things are still moving very fast without any effort of my own.

The thing about luck and karma is, there is a balance to the Universe and to life. Unfortunately bad things do have to happen sometimes to balance the scales for the good. And how bad is a flat tire? It’s not fun, it’s a bit of a nuisance in fact, but for all the things that could go wrong, it’s “relatively” minor.

I got my flat on the way to a new client, and I worked on my audition before, and made it back in time to film the audition. I feel that today, I did the best that I could, so I am satisfied.

Asé.
